A Great Revival

I was just sharing this with a friend and got so excited about it, that I want to shout it out! For many years, along with most all of you, we have been praying for Revival in our country. The first thing God taught me in that, was that Revival must begin in my own heart first, only then will I be able to be a part of it.

Lately, it seems that whenever we are in conversation with people from the US that more and more names keep coming into the conversations about young Christian leaders that have really come to the forefront; not only in the Christian world but throughout the nation.

A generation ago there were the ‘top 20 or so’ names that everyone knew and it seems that now these younger pastors are becoming the ones to step up to that list of the well known names. One thing Bob pointed out to me is that these young men are all ‘Teaching Pastors’ who are all very involved in Missions. They are teaching the Word for knowledge and in depth personal growth. Not a personal growth for each of us to get more for ourselves but a personal growth that takes us outside of ‘me and mine’ to a growth of… How can I help others? Who can I tell about Christ? I cannot NOT tell you about my Jesus! WOW! That’s where I want to be!

I don’t want to list names because we hear so little here and I would be leaving out so many names that should be added to the list, but you hear these names and have the opportunities to listen to their preaching and teaching a lot. Many of you have them as your own pastors. Take advantage of that. Listen to the Word, love the Word, embrace the Word.

I can’t really say this is a revelation from God – but I sure hope it is, because I am really wanting to believe that this is the time of a GREAT REVIVAL in our country! Be blessed mightily today by sharing the name of Jesus with someone you work with or go to school with or happen to meet on the street! Oh yes – that WILL be Revival.

My God is an awesome God. He is absolute. His power was and is and will never change. Thank you for the words to remind me many awoke this morning without that hope.

WE HAVE WATER!!!!! God has once more allowed us to see His power and His glory by answering our prayers for water at Jirandogo! We went there on Monday expecting to meet the well diggers that day. They did not actually make it until Wednesday night around 5:30. But by 8pm they dug down 150meters and had hit water! They said we should be able to get 10 to 15 liters per minute. They won’t put the pump in until next week so we haven’t actually gotten to have any of the water yet so please keep praying that it all goes as expected. This should be enough to at least help the village with water even if it won’t take care of all their water needs. God is so gracious and so good.
We would have told you sooner but we don’t have email there and can only occasionally get a phone call to go through. Although you might have heard all the shouting as everyone was so happy.
I don’t think either of us doubted for even one second that the water would be there and be enough for the community as well. Still, we so appreciate all of your prayers and those of you that are helping with the cost of digging this well. It sure was exciting to watch them all gathered around the property last night as the digging was being done.
If you have never asked God for something only He can do, we sure want to encourage you to try it. We get opportunities everyday to see Him work in ways we never saw before moving to Ghana. But, you know, He is doing His thing everyday - no matter where we live – and we just have to be watching for Him.
Please join us in praising Him as you read this and lift a praise up to Him for His faithfulness.

We know our God knows how to multiply. Praying for Him to multiply 10-15 liters to 10-15 gallons per minute. So thankful for His goodness.

Trusting God

Check out the sneak preview of the up and coming Jirandogo Ministry Center

Please continue praying about the possibility of water in Jirandogo. We were back out there yesterday and thought they were going to meet us at the site with contract and rig to drill but they did not come. Then as we drove back to Tamale we saw the rig also on it's way back. Since the reason they were giving us the 50% off price was because their rig was already in the area, we assumed this was God's way of saying 'not yet'. But today when Bob talked to them he found out that the rig has some some part that needs to be repaired so they had to come to Tamale for that. They still have to go back to finish their job there and should still be coming to our place then. We are praying that when we actually see the contract there are no hidden costs he has neglected to tell us about because this is one of  those 'too good to be true' deals of a lifetime or, as we believe, truly a GOD thing. So we continue to trust Him that He will be glorified by bringing water into this community.

Our great God will work out all the details, and supply the drinking water, and the living water for the villagers.

It Can Only Be God

This is one of those it can only be God’ praise and prayer reports! To see God work – the way we get to witness Him everyday – is beyond anything my brain can wrap around. But my heart can sure grab hold of it and hang on to Him. In fact, that was part of Bob’s praise today, “Lord, I am just hanging onto you and can’t wait to see what You are going to do next!”

We are asking for your help. We believe this is truly one of those Divine Appointments / Providential Moments / God-incidences and we are just dancing with praise! As we were coming back from Jirandogo yesterday, there ‘just happened’ to be, practically right on the roadside, a well being dug!

Now the one thing our Jirandogo site does NOT have is water. We will have to travel roughly a mile to the river to get water and we have been praying for God to somehow intervene and us be able to have water on the site. Seeing the drilling rig on the road side was almost like seeing a mirage in the desert. Bob stopped and talked to the man and he said he would go to our site to check it out. Well, he called today and he thinks there is a possibility of hitting water!!! Praise God!

Now, here is the prayer part. First of all, that not only will they hit water, but that it will be enough that the whole village will be able to use it as their water source and no longer have to continue going all the way to the river every day.

Since the man is in that area with all his equipment, he will drill the well for roughly $7,500. Our issue is that it has to be done right NOW, this week, so we are putting this out as a request to anyone who might be able to help with this need.

Thank you so much for praising with us and praying for us. They truly must be the fragrant offering, the acceptable sacrifice that is pleasing to God.

Tom - You got it! This is exactly what we are praying. God is going to bring forth a real gusher to the amazement of everyone in the community!

Recently I have been listeing to a song by the Collingsworth Family that says "go tell your mountain how big your God is." Perhaps that's what we have here....a mountain that is about to see just how big our God is!
