You Have To Appreciate God In This...

You have to appreciate God in this….

Here we are sitting in a Guest House in Salaga, hot and tired after being in villages meeting with Bible Club Leaders all day. There is no water, the electricity is so weak that the air conditioner won’t run, the fan comes and goes, sometimes getting fast enough that it sounds like an airboat, and the light bulb is about 20 watts. Then all the power goes off.

What are we doing? Preparing to teach next week the Bible Club Leaders on “Changing Our Attitudes from Complaining to Thankfulness and Covetousness to Contentment”!

So Lord, when I am whining for the ac to come on and the water truck to get here so we can bathe to help cool us down, please don’t think that I am complaining or coveting more… because I am really so thankful to be right where I am in this place, this minute that I would not trade it for all the ac in the world. Interesting connection between teaching and testing. Praying for your quick relief.

It is 19 degrees here and yesterday I caught myself wanting to be in Salaga, for several reasons...it is a shame we can't share some of this cool air. GREAT to HEAR from YOU!

Count your blessings Bob. It was 9 degrees last night at my house in Louisville! All that heat is looking pretty good from where I sit.

Jamis and I would probably trade our near zero Kentucky weather for your dusty, hot, and airconditionless time in Salaga. However, we, too, are learning to be content. I will say that my African son is definitely NOT a complainer, and I am trying to always be thankful.

LoL. Gotta love how gracious God is in giving us life experiences to help us in teaching others and reminding us at the same time of the lesson. Keeps us humble and keeps us real so that we can relate to the needs of others. Thats gotta be grace. Love you guys!!

wow, God can really get the point across, can't he? It did make me laugh, sorry. I'd be such a big baby, if it were me there. You make us all proud.
