Hi Everyone

I got to come home from the hospital on Thursday and I go back to my cardiologist on Friday, 2nd Nov. He will schedule my heart stint for the artery that is 80% blocked and after that a few weeks of rehab should have me back better than ever. My schedule says I was suppose to be in Tamale today. God’s Wisdom and Grace kept me in the US so I could get proper medical treatment. By Gods Grace and for His glory.

Bonnie and I have been prayed for around the world. The words thank you are not enough but may God reward you for the way you have ministered to Bonnie and me this last week.

Emmanuel, Thomas, John, Peter, Gladys and Ajua have been doing a super job of going on with the ministry in Ghana. I talk to them everyday and miss them. God’s time is best.

Isaiah 46:4 Even to your old age and gray hairs I am He, I am He who will sustain you. I have made you and I will carry you; I will sustain you and I will rescue you.

Col. 3:17 And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him. Bob

Bonnie here….

With all that was going on with Bob in the hospital and the fact that I was sending the messages with his I-phone, there were some ‘God stories’ that I did not write but would like to share with you now.

  1. As we were waiting in ICU for the doctor to come in, I felt this intense ‘nagging’ that there was someone we were supposed to be praying for. I shared that with Bob and we began to pray that God would reveal this person to us. Before long one of the staff members came in and, of course, was very friendly and jovial talking to us. I almost waited until he was out the door before I asked. Then, he stopped dead in his tracks and turned around and said, “What did you say?” I told him again that we felt God was telling us to pray for someone and was he the one that needed prayer. His reply was, “Does it show on my face that much? I have been trying to not let it show.”  He then calmly turned around, went and closed the door, then came and said, “Yes, please pray for my marriage. It has been a very bad morning and we need your prayers.” He then came and took both our hands and we had a wonderful time of prayer for his marriage. Maybe God doesn’t always reveal His WHOLE plan with us, but as we listen He gives us many opportunities to be blessed.

So even though you didn’t know you were also lifting up this young man and his wife, indirectly every prayer prayed for Bob and me was also praying for them.

  1. The second one is one of those special ways that God lets you know that He has you right in the palm of His hand, even when circumstances might not seem like it. This was again while we were in ICU, my cousin Jim (who is also a pastor) was visiting when two people we did not know walked in. They explained they were chaplains visiting the patients, introducing themselves to see how they could pray and if there were any needs they could help with. We got to fellowship with them for some time, then as they were about to leave they were going to pray for us and also gave us a pamphlet they hand out that have prayers and Scriptures written in them for encouragement. It seems there were 3 different ones and as he handed one to me, he quickly pulled it back and said he wanted to give us a different one. When I opened that one, chills (you know those God bumps) that run up your arms were rampant.

The printed prayer – “THE SERENITY PRAYER” When we first came back to Christ, that prayer was Bob’s favorite and as soon as he found a plaque with it written on it, he bought it and it hung in our home.

The Scripture – Isaiah 41:10 which was the Scripture God gave Bob the time in India when his plane had to make an emergency landing and he has always clung to in times of trouble ever since.

God always has His ways of reassuring us.

3. Another one really has more to do with friendships cemented in God’s love and dear friends bringing in food and showing up at 10pm to be sure we are holding our own with the doctors when every time we were told something, it changed so quickly. Bless you guys.
