Current Prayers & Praise 2009 Current Praise and Prayer List
We thought you might enjoy ‘hearing’ what some of the guys had to say about their Mission Trip so we are including some testimonies from them. Over the course of the week, the Team recorded 107 salvations!!!! Praise God for these young men and their leaders. We sent a follow up visit on Sunday to help Pastor go around to each of the villages. In one village alone there were 30 new believers that came to the church! The guys said that everyone was so hungry to hear the Word and kept asking questions and wanting to hear more.
Meanwhile, we went to Yamah for a conference with Bible Club Leaders, Helpers and Pastors. We had a great time with them and now have an additional 16 Bible Clubs in that area adding to the 3 from last year making 19. Praise God! Looks like we will be spending more time there. God is so good. As I typed that, in error, I typed ‘God is so God’ but that really would be a more appropriate way to say it. God Is So God. I like that because He truly IS!
One of the blessings for us that day was the folks who were there and came to greet us that we have ministered with over the years in different capacities.
I think we had shared with you that the first time we went to this church the Pastor came up to Bob and said you preached in my home church in 2001 before I had been called to be a Pastor. He went on to tell what the sermon was about and how it had impacted his life.
A former student from the Baptist Training Center was there that had graduated 2003.
And one the first people to come up to us was a Pastor who used to be in the Langbinsi area and has now been transferred. He had a wonderful testimony to share with the folks there about how the Bible Clubs had helped his church growth in his former community.
God is so gracious to allow us the blessings of seeing fruits from the labor. Bob says this is a year of reaping and the harvest is very sweet.
Well, on to the testimonies of the boys…
Daniel Peter: At first I was not at peace at all thinking that I might have to share with others. Even during the teaching time before we went out, I was unable to share during practice. When we first went out my partner shared and I would pray for him as he did. But then I told him I wanted to talk to the next person. Immediately, the spirit of God came on me and I was able to share all that we had been taught!
Saimon Isaac: I was frightened to go out but as our teaching continued I became more at ease. When we arrived we were put into groups of 2. We saw some ladies and I began sharing and they accepted Christ. We entered into a house and saw a lady cracking ground nuts. We began to help her as we shared. She also accepted Christ as her Savior. Four people in that house were saved.
Abukari Emmanuel: Went to the house of Atimbila. He had leg pains and asked for prayer. We prayed for him and also shared Christ with him. He said he believed what we were saying so if we would come back to get him on Sunday, he would go to the church service. But when I went to his house on Sunday I was told he was hiding from me and had gone to farm. But one of his house boys was at church so I am praying he too will come.
Alhassan Sumalla: I didn’t expect people would have time to even listen to us. But they wanted to hear. More than 25 accepted Christ as I shared throughout the week.
Abdulai Musah: The day we arrived we danced and celebrated. I did not know what to say because I had never done this before. I shared with one lady and she accepted Christ. Another two houses refused us, but let us pray for them. There was a child who could not walk and a lady that had been married for six years with no children.
Maikil Kofi: Thank God for the training here. I have had it in my mind to share Christ with people but couldn’t. When I was told about the Mission Camp I said I could not go because I had much work to do on the farm as this is now planting season. But through prayer I came.
Haruna Amos: Thank God for what He has done. My heart was just beating when I was asked to share. I started shivering, but immediately when I began it was OK and God gave me the words to speak. One man told me about a dream he had. He dreamed something was coming to him and he realized it was Jesus and he didn’t want Jesus to reach him so he hid under a bush. Jesus told the man to meet Him at a big house and left. That was his dream. He said he has never had any word from Christians but this was his dream and he knew that it was Jesus though he wasn’t sure why he knew that. He wants to be a Christian because he knows this was Jesus calling him but he fears his non-Christian brothers.
Reaping in joy,
-Bob & Bonnie
