Pathfinder

Here I am standing next to our, new to us, Nissan Pathfinder! As you can imagine, we are very excited. I think we had shared with you that I had found one we thought was going to be the one to purchase just before we had to come back to the US.

God being who He is brought us back to this one which is a newer model, with less miles and still cost less in addition! The most amazing thing is that through so many of you giving so generously, we purchased both the bus in June and now the Pathfinder with $180 left which covered our cost of licensing and driving it to Tamale! God continues to amaze us in His own remarkable ways!

On another note, our health seems to be good and things are moving on well. We have scheduled some Bible Club Leaders trainings that will be over the next 3 weeks. There have been 36 baptisms since we came back with a total number of 269 in 2012. God’s church is on the move.

I have greeted most of the Pastors in our area and they seem to be doing well. The farming project in the new community went really well for corn and groundnuts (peanuts) but no rice so we will be eating more T-Zet and less riceballs. But I can handle that - umm good.

I've been making good Ghana Tizit, and I think i like it too much. The ground nut stew is delicious. Today it's okra stew and rice balls. No wonder I can't lose weight.

ChristWay Team

What a fun way to come back to Ghana. The ChristWay team kept us laughing every moment. All while they were doing some incredible ministry. Team Leader, Kathy, kept everyone in line or maybe it took the team to keep her in line. Either way - it was great. Don, Debbie, Ron, JD, Allison, Darlene, Lisa, Ashley and Mitchell visited Bible Clubs, taught women and men in the villages, door to door evangelism, and just loved on folks. What a joy they have made our homecoming. Only problem is they left Monday night.
Bob and I have been enjoying many greetings. The Seedlings all seemed to have grown a foot. It will be great to back into a routine - whatever that is.
One thing for sure is that we continue to see God working in Ghana in BIG ways and we are looking forward to what He is going to do in 2013.
As they say here, "Happy New Year and may we greet each other again like this next year"!

How Great Is Our God?!

How Great Is Our God?!
Never will there be enough words to express His greatness and our gratefulness! We are back in Tamale and it is good to be home. When we left Ghana, we really were not sure what to expect about our return here so when God, thru doctors and technology, put Bob back on the Mission Field, it is something very special and dear to us. We could never express to Him how grateful we are – Praise God – He knows our hearts!
Our staff and friends here have been greeting us and letting us know how they have been praying and praying for God to bring us back here. That is too amazing to even think about.
The compound looks great and everyone has worked hard to continue the ministry while we were gone. It has been fun to hear some of their ‘behind the scenes’ stories as they ministered to the teams that came while we were gone. But they enjoyed each of them and have already told us much about this one’s personality and how that one is so much like someone else that comes or how this one speaks with such authority and another one made them laugh. Thank you to each of you who were here for making them all feel so loved.
We arrived here Saturday morning with the team from Christway Church and they hit the ground running. By 3pm we were in Sagnarigu where we dropped six of them at the Bible Club under the tree and took four to Simon’s house where the new church meets. We then divided into 3 groups, along with Simon, Charles, and a couple of their elders and went door to door.
It was so good to be back in a village again. I still say the Dagomba people have to be the most hospitable people in the world. What a blessing to spend time with them and listen to the stories about what is going on.
Today, Sunday, the team divided with one group going back to Sagnarigu to preach and the other going to Trinity Presby. Both had great worship services, got back in time to eat lunch, observe the baptism of 20 people and go out to visit two Bible Clubs and fellowship with a group of ladies who very happy to receive a small love gift the ladies helped make.
How great is our God?! As we reflect back on 2012, we have seen MANY blessings in many lives. It has been a time of good-byes as Toby and his family moved back to the US, Jonathan’s adoption was finalized, we have seen more of God’s miracles, we purchased the ‘new to us’ bus, Over 300 people have gone through the baptismal pool, funds are being raised for the Salaga Area Ministry Center, along with three church buildings to be built in 2013, and the number of Bible Club children soared to over 9,100. How GREAT is our God!

Have a Blessed 2013,
Bob & Bonnie
