Bible Club Rallies, CLTA, Translation Clinic and more...

Where do we even begin with our very belated update??? God continues to grow and bless this ministry in so many ways that we could never dream of. I have always said that since our first day in Ghana, it has felt like God was moving everything so quickly and we were just hanging on to His coat tails. In my mind, I always envisioned a comet streaking across the sky with us holding on to the tail and flying along behind it. Now I hear there are really people riding on a meteorite! They can’t be as blessed as we feel to be here working with so many people that love the Lord and want to see His name going out to more and more of their families, friends and neighbors.

The Bible Clubs continue to grow. There will be an Area Leaders meeting this week that I know will be so exciting to hear them as they meet together. We see and hear from them all the time individually and each of their ministries continues to grow. They each really see the vision and have so many testimonies they share about Pastors continuing to praise for having young men and women as leaders in their churches that have come up through the Bible Clubs!

The Area Rallies are going on now.  Salaga area did not make it through all of their questions but this was their first time having an Area Rally. I know that by next year they will do better. But both the Kpana and Tamale areas answered all their 229 God Story questions and went to Colossians 2:21 to have a winner! Just imagine! Another 50 verses after answering 229 questions!!! Praise God for the way He works.

Then moving on to a somewhat sadder note, teams are cancelling because people are so afraid of the Ebola virus. I know the media keeps combining all of west Africa together and people are hearing that instead of the individual countries that are really quite some distance from Ghana. Of course when we have teams we depend on the extra workers going out into the villages; it multiplies the ministry so much that we really are sad they are choosing not to come now. Yet we understand the fear as well.

The good outcome of that is that without having teams come to help out with the teaching in the CLTA classes, it has forced us to move a lot faster to turn the teaching over to our staff than we had intended. It is, of course, always the plan to turn the work over to local people; this is just a little more expedient than we had planned.

So now Thomas and John are both officially CLTA teachers. They have both been doing an excellent job with it and are a joy to be around. Of course, Thomas has been our Training Leader for the Bible Clubs for so many years and is truly a gifted teacher. John is new to the adult teaching side for Seed Ministry. He has been leading the Seedlings for some years now and he teaches Adult Sunday School as well as helps with preaching in his own church.

With now having the Church Leaders Training Academies in both Jirandogo and Gushegu, teachers are traveling for one week to each place. In 2015, we will be adding part of the curriculum to our Bible Club Leaders training as well.

We have started the process of translating one of the books used in our curriculum into SEVEN of the languages that we work with. This week we are hosting the translators here for a translation clinic and they will then take the book back to work on it. We are so excited to get this in the process. We had hoped to get a second book started also but have decided that will have to wait until later in 2015.

Since two teams have post-poned, we will be giving the entire staff off for most of the month of December (after CLTA classes) to spend Christmas with their families. We are also going to take advantage of this time to spend Christmas with our family this year.

John and Thomas answering God's call to teaching is awesome! They are such humble, hard working men!!! We are hearing verbal persecution in the states for ministering in West Africa over Ebola, while people forget the millions dying of Malaria. Praise the Lord there are Christiians realizing billions have a greater disease: SIN. Enjoy your families this Christmas brothers and sisters in Christ. Your South Fork family is overjoyed with your translations and CLTA trainings.

Praise God from Whom all blessings flow! This testimony encouraged me in such a personal way. God hears, He is ALIVE and at work in only the perfect way He can work all things, no matter how our own earthly perspective might be, together for our good and more importantly HIS GLORY! Thankful you are getting some rest time to minister in the states ,too!!:)

Enjoyed reading your newsletter. If you have not read John Piper's book "Let The Nations Be Glad", it is worth your time.
Have a safe trip home and enjoy your time with your family

Jamis has heard some hurtful comments about Ebola. People here just need to study a map of Africa. Please tell Thomas we are so proud of him. I knew he was a leader and teacher as far back as 2004. Who would have seen such growth for Seed Ministry? You plant, God gives the increase. Enjoy your time here. God bless and keep you all.
